David joined Bridgwater Town Council as Town Clerk and Responsible Financial Officer in November 2018.

David was previously with Langport Town Council as their Town Clerk and Responsible Financial Officer.

David is a Principal of the Society of Local Council Clerks and secretary to the Somerset branch.

David holds the Certificate in Local Council Administration (CiLCA) and is an approved CiLCA trainer.

David is currently studying a 6 year Community Governance degree with De Montfort University.

This degree is a sector based degree covering, community engagement; local government law, procedures and finance; the planning system, managing staff and managing projects.

Over the last four years David has helped modernise three town and parish councils.

David is married to Deanna who is a primary school teacher, and enjoys playing in the local darts team – and time with his family.
